Delete your account or data

You can erase your ShiftTally account and everything in it yourself, from inside the app, in about ten seconds. You do not need to ask us, and we will not try to talk you out of it.

What gets deleted

Everything. When you confirm, ShiftTally erases, in this order:

• Every document you uploaded. Clockout slip photos, tip deposit photos, and pay stub images and PDFs are removed from file storage.
• Every record. Your shifts, pay stubs, verifications, and settings, including your tip-out rate, your employer name, and any Google Calendar connection.
• Your account itself. Your sign-in credentials and email address are removed.

What we keep

Nothing that is tied to you. Your documents, your records, and your account are gone. There is no archive, no hidden copy, and no "deactivated" state we hold onto. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and it cannot be undone.

Two honest caveats. We take routine backups of the whole system for disaster recovery. A copy of your data may persist in those backups for up to 30 days before it rotates out. They exist to restore the service after a failure; we do not open them to look up one person, and we do not use them to restore deleted data.

And the models and aggregate statistics ShiftTally already built are not reversible. We use the documents people upload to teach the app to read documents better, and training that already happened cannot be run backwards. A model that learned from your slips before you left stays as it is. It holds no copy of your documents and nothing in it points back at you. The same goes for a de-identified copy of a document, if we have made one: a version with your name and every identifying detail blacked out of the image, kept for training, no longer about you. The privacy policy sets out that work in full.

Delete some of your data without closing your account

You do not have to delete your account to get rid of specific records. Inside the app you can:

• Delete an individual shift, which also removes the documents attached to it.
• Delete an individual document you imported, such as a clockout slip or a tip deposit.
• Change or clear any value you entered, such as your tip-out rate or your employer name.

Anything you delete this way is erased on the spot, under the same terms as above. Your account and the rest of your history stay intact.

To delete anything the app does not currently let you remove on its own, such as a single pay stub, email support@getshifttally.com and tell us what to erase. We will do it and confirm.

If you cannot get into the app

If you have uninstalled ShiftTally, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email support@getshifttally.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it.

We will confirm the request, delete the account, and reply to tell you it is done, within 30 days and usually much sooner.

Before you go

Deletion is permanent, so if you want to keep your records, ask for them first. Email support@getshifttally.com and we will send you a copy of everything in your account before we erase it.
